To make sure that the application can process and display transcripts properly, you can provide the transcript format requirements to the person or organization who creates transcripts for you, such as a court reporter.
The following transcript file types are supported: PTF, PCF, and .txt.
Your administrator adds transcripts to a case. Depending on the file type, the requirements are different:
●PTF and PCF files: Portable transcript format (PTF) and portable case format (PCF) files include pagination information as part of the file. Because your administrator does not have to specify where the page breaks in the transcript occur, it is generally faster to add PTF and PCF files to a case.
●Text files: Plain text transcripts (.txt files) must include a recurring pattern of text that indicates the location of every page break. The pattern can occur in the header or footer of each page.
For example, each page in a transcript might include a page footer with the name of the transcription company.
When your administrator adds a plain text transcript to a case, they associate the transcript file with a saved transcript format. This saved transcript format allows the application to display the pages of the transcript correctly. For information about how your administrator can create transcript formats, see Create transcript formats.
