If Windows Active Directory authentication and password self-service are enabled in your environment, you can reset a forgotten password or change an expired password in Ringtail. If third-party password management is also enabled, you are directed to a third-party site.
Note: The password management features are not available for Ringtail authentication.
If Windows Active Directory authentication and password self-service are enabled in your environment, use the following procedure to reset a forgotten password.
1.On the Ringtail login page, click the I've forgotten my password link.
a.If a third-party password management tool is not configured, do the following:
i.On the next page, type your user name, and then click Next.
ii.On the next page, type the answers to three of your five challenge questions, and then click Reset Password.
iii.On the next page, type your new password and re-enter your new password.
Note: As you type your new password, a box indicates the strength of your password. If the words Password strength appear in red font, your password is too weak. Modify your password until the words Password strength appears in green font.
iv.Click Save.
If your password does not meet the requirements, the password entries do not match, or the password has already been used, you are prompted to redo your entries. After saving the password, you are returned to the Ringtail login page
b.If a third-party password management tool is configured, you are directed to the third-party password self-service site.
Follow the instructions on the third-party site to reset your password. You will likely need to enter a verification code or answer security questions.
If Windows Active Directory authentication and password self-service are enabled in your environment, use the following procedure to change your password.
1.On the Ringtail login page, click the Change password link.
a.If a third-party password management tool is not configured, do the following:
i.Type your User Name.
ii.In the Current Password box, type your current password.
iii.In the New Password box, type your new password.
iv.In the Re-enter Password box, type your new password.
v.Click Reset.
b.If a third-party password management tool is configured, you are directed to the third-party password self-service site.
Follow the instructions on the third-party site to change your password.
