Only administrators can lock a production after documents have been added. Locking the production creates the production rendition records, but not the files. For more information about when the files are created, see Print a production. A production cannot be locked unless it contains documents. For information about security, see Set security for productions.
Once a production is locked, it remains intact, as produced, unless unlocked by an administrator. To make changes to the locked production, such as adding or removing documents, adding or removing redactions, or changing sort order, an administrator must unlock the production, make the changes, and then lock the production again.
Use the following procedure to lock a production.
1.On the Case Home page, under Manage Documents, click Productions.
2.In the Productions list, click the name of a production.
3.Click Lock on any of the production pages.
4.Optionally, in the Lock production dialog box, do one or both of the following:
oTo print the production when the locking job is complete, select Auto print.
oType a comment in the Comment box.
5.Click OK.
6.To view the status of the job, click the History link in the navigation pane.
Tip: When the lock process is complete, you can check the results for quality. An easy way to perform a quality check is to go to Production Pages, which you can access on the Case Home menu. Select the production to see the locked version of the production along with a preview of the pages. Documents produced as native only are not represented on this page. For more information about the Productions Pages page, see Work with Production Pages page.
If errors occur during the process, see the RPF error logs or contact your administrator. For information about RPF errors, see Work with errors.
If any documents to be produced as endorsable images are missing endorsable image files, the lock job will fail and initiate the unlock process for the production. An error message will also appear on the History page of the production.
●Click the View documents link in the error message to view a list of documents that are missing endorsable images.
If any documents to be produced as natives are missing native files, the job will complete successfully, but an error message will appear on the History page of the production. The error message will also appear if documents are missing a native file because it was excluded by the Omit Native if document is redacted setting.
●Click the View documents link in the error message to view a list of documents that are missing native files.
