Documents associated with a case are often available only in paper form. To make paper documents available in Ringtail, a scanning agency scans the documents, and then saves them in an electronic format, such as tagged image file format (.tiff) or portable document format (PDF). You view these image and PDF files in the Image viewer in the View pane.
In the Image viewer, you can perform the following tasks:
●View, navigate, and annotate document pages
●Highlight documents with different colors
●Redact documents
●Search for text to highlight or redact
●Convert highlights to redactions, and convert redactions to highlights
●Add notes to specific document pages
●Save pages that are relevant to a case in PDF format, which you can print in hard copy
●View native files as pages
●Watch video files and listen to audio files
For information about working with highlights, redactions, and notes, see Annotate documents.
The permissions set by your administrator determine access to this feature.
You can view, highlight, and redact the following file types in the Image viewer:
●Image files, such as .tiff, .gif, .jpg, .png, .wmf, or .bmp
●PDF files
Note: The case options set by your administrator determine access to this feature.
You can view, but not annotate, the following native file types in the Image viewer:
