Annotations include the highlights, redactions, and notes that are added to documents.
You can perform the following tasks to view or hide annotations:
●View highlights and redactions
●View notes
●Display highlight names
●Make redactions transparent
●Hide annotations
Tip: To speed up the document annotation process, you can use keyboard shortcuts instead of the mouse. For information about the available keyboard shortcuts, see Keyboard shortcuts.
Use the following procedure to view highlights or redactions that are added to a document.
1.Select a document.
2.Depending on the information that you want to view, select from the following:
oTo view highlights and redactions in the position that they are applied over document content, do the following:
i.In the View pane, click the Image viewer button.
ii.Use the navigation tools in the Image viewer pane to navigate through the document pages.
Highlights and redactions appear on the document pages.
oTo view a summary list of highlights and redactions, including the names of the users who added the annotations and the dates the annotations were added, do the following:
i.Depending on the panes in your workspace, select from the following:
♦In the Code pane, on the All Values menu, click Annotations. Optionally, select the type of annotation from the All menu.
♦In the Conditional Coding pane, in the list on the toolbar, click the name of a conditional coding template.
ii.To open the page that contains an annotation, click the page number link next to an annotation.
Note: Your workspace must include a View pane that is open to the Image viewer.
Use the following procedure to see the notes that are added to a document.
1.Select a document.
2.In the Code pane, on the All Values menu, select from the following:
oTo view all notes that are added to the document, click Notes.
oTo view notes that are added to a specific document page, click Annotations. From the All menu, select Notes.
Use the following procedure to display highlight names.
1.Select a document.
2.In the View pane, click the Image viewer button.
3.On the Image viewer toolbar, click the Display highlight name button.
4.To hide highlight names, click the Display highlight name button again.
If you want to determine which document content is hidden by redactions, you can make redactions semi-transparent. Redactions appear as shaded boxes, and you can see the content under the redactions.
For example, you can make redactions transparent while you perform a quality control check on documents, and then make redactions opaque again after you are finished.
Note: You cannot make branded redactions transparent. Your administrator configures branded redactions.
Use the following procedure to make redactions transparent.
1.Select a document.
2.In the View pane, click the Image viewer button.
3.On the Image viewer toolbar, click the Transparent annotations button.
4.To make redactions opaque, click the Transparent annotations button again.
You can hide highlights, redactions, and notes from a document, with the exception of branded redactions. A branded redaction is "burnt" into a document image, and cannot be removed. Your administrator configures branded redactions.
Use the following procedure to hide annotations.
1.Select a document.
2.In the View pane, click the Image viewer button.
3.On the Image viewer toolbar, click the arrow below the Hide annotations button, and then select from the following:
oTo hide a specific type of redaction, point to Redactions, and then select the redaction type.
oTo hide a specific type of highlight, point to Highlights, and then select the highlight type.
oTo hide all redactions, click All redactions.
oTo hide all highlights, click All highlights.
oTo hide all notes, highlights, and redactions, click All annotations.
4.Repeat the previous steps to hide additional types of annotations, as required.
5.To make annotations visible again, click the Hide annotations button.
