This procedure applies to both Production templates and General templates.
You can customize a system load file template to create a case-specific load file template.
You can also modify the attributes of a previously saved case-specific load file template.
Note: If you plan to modify a previously saved case-specific load file template, make sure that the template is not in use. Modifications may result in unexpected load file output.
Use the following procedure to modify the attributes of a load file template.
1.To open a load file template, do the following:
a.On the Case Home page, under Manage Documents, click Load File Templates.
b.Click the name of a load file template.
2.In the Load File Templates Details pane, change the attribute values to meet the current case requirements.
For more information about the attributes, see Load file template attributes.
3.Optionally, you can modify the columns of the load file template. Columns define the structure of the load file output. For more information, see Modify load file template columns.
4.If you are modifying a Ringtail Database Load File Template (.mdb load file) that is for General export jobs, you can include highlight and redaction data in the load file. For more information, see Modify load file annotation data.
5.In the Actions pane, click Save Template.
This procedure applies to both Production templates and General templates.
Columns define the structure of the load file output. A case-specific load file template inherits the columns and column values from the system template that it is based on.
You can modify the columns of a case-specific load file template in the following ways:
●Customize predefined column values
●Add new columns
●Delete columns
●Change the sort order of columns
Use the following procedure to modify load file template columns.
1.To open a load file template, do the following:
a.On the Case Home page, under Manage Documents, click Load File Templates.
b.Click the name of a load file template.
2.To modify an existing column, click the value that you want to change.
The Variable Builder window appears, in which you can change the value.
For information, see Work with the Variable Builder.
3.To add a column, click the Add a Column button (+) next to the Columns section label, as shown in the following figure.
A blank column is added to the bottom of the column list.
4.Click in the Name column, and then type a name for the column.
5.To set a value for the column, in the Value column, click [Not Set].
The Variable Builder window appears, in which you can define a value for the added column.
For information, see Work with the Variable Builder.
6.To delete a column, click the Delete Row button (X) next to a column name, as shown in the following figure.
7.To change the column sort order, in the row that you want to move, click the number in the Sort Order column. Ringtail removes the number and renumbers the remaining rows in order. Again in the row that you want to move, click inside the Sort Order column. Ringtail assigns the highest number in the order to that row.
8.In the Actions pane, click Save Template.
This procedure applies to General templates.
For Ringtail Database Load File Templates (.mdb load files), you can export highlight and redaction data in the load file. You can then use the load file to import the highlight and redaction data into another Ringtail case.
