Case administrators can create or delete export jobs, view existing export jobs, and download exports to local storage. For information about how to view existing export jobs, see View import and export jobs.
Note: You cannot modify an export job after it has been submitted.
Before you can export documents, you must create a load file template for the export job. Load file templates control which metadata is exported and the file output format. For information about how to create or modify load file templates, see Work with load file templates.
You can only export locked and printed productions. To export documents in a production, you must create at least one production load file template and one production. Be sure to select a document-per-row or a page-per-row load file template. For more information, see Productions or Work with load file templates.
To export documents in a binder, create at least one general load file template and one binder of base documents. For more information, see Binders.
Use the following procedure to export documents.
1.On the Case Home page, under Manage Documents, click Exports.
2.Click Add.
3.Type a Name for the export job.
4.Type an optional Description.
5.Optionally, from the File repository list, select the file repository to export the data to. This list contains the file transfer repositories configured for your case.
3.Type or select an Output folder location. To make sure that the path is valid, click Test.
Tip: Use the Output folder list to select and edit a previous path.
4.In the first Load file template list, select a template. In the second list, select the binder of documents to export.
5.By default, the export job includes the following items. To exclude any of these options, clear one or more of the following check boxes:
oLoad files
oNative files
oContent files (.txt)
oImaged pages
6.To determine when you want the export job to run, in the Start time area, select one of the following options:
oTo submit the job for processing immediately, leave the default setting, Now.
oTo schedule a time, in the first box, select a date. In the second box, select a time.
7.For productions export jobs that contain endorsable images, in the Image format list, select from the following options:
oTo export the rendition image files as is, leave the default setting of As printed to rendition.
oTo create one PDF per document to represent only the image files, select As non-searchable PDFs.
Note: If you select As non-searchable PDFs, the resulting PDF file name of any affected document will match the produced document label for the document. If the image for the rendition is already a PDF file, that PDF is copied as is. If a document has a PDF as its native file and the resulting image PDF has the same file name, Ringtail automatically appends the following suffix to the image PDF file name: _1
oTo export PDF documents as TIFF images, select Convert PDFs to TIFF (single page, black and white).
8.Click Save.
You can download exports to a local path from Ringtail. The data is downloaded as a .zip file.
Use the following procedure to download an export.
1.On the Case Home page, under Manage Documents, click Exports.
2.Select the check box next to one or more exports, and then click Download.
Note: To calculate the estimated size of the files before compressing them into a .zip file, in the Download dialog box, click View uncompressed size.
3.If Aspera fast file transfer integration is enabled, select Use Aspera for faster data transfer. This option does not appear if integration with Aspera is not configured and enabled.
Note: If you select this option, and the required plug-in is not installed on your computer, a dialog box appears with instructions and a link to the Aspera Connect download page. After installing the plug-in, you must close and re-open your browser.
4.Click OK. The processing session opens and takes place in a separate browser window.
Note: For downloads performed using Aspera Connect, to show the download progress, the Aspera Transfers dialog box opens in addition to the Ringtail Processing items window.
For multiple downloads, the most recent download appears at the top of the window. The number of items, the status, a progress bar, and an estimate of the completion time also appear while the downloads are in progress. The estimate refreshes as the download progresses. If a download fails, Ringtail displays specific error messages.
5.Click View downloads to open or save each .zip file.
Note: You can exit the case or refresh your browser during download.
