You create a mine from a binder of documents. When creating a mine, you can route the mine to specific groups so that anyone in the group can review the mine, or you can assign the mine to a specific workflow and phase for review.
Before you start, create a binder that contains the documents you want to include in the mine. For information about how to create a binder, see Create a binder.
Use the following procedure to create a mine.
1.On the Case Home page, under Analysis, click Mines.
2.Click Add.
3.Type a unique Name for the mine.
Note: To avoid errors, do not use special characters in mine names, such as brackets or question marks.
4.In the Max clusters box, type a number for the maximum number of clusters you want to appear in the mine. The default is 20 clusters. You can display up to 99 clusters in a mine.
Note: A higher number of clusters may increase the mine processing time.
5.In the Binder list, select a binder to use to create the mine.
The Binder list contains the first 100 shared binders, along with the number of documents in each binder. You can locate binders in the following ways:
oClick the next page arrow to move through the pages of the list. You can also type in a number in the page box to go from page to page.
oType the first few letters of a binder name in the box to more quickly locate a binder.
oTo view any new binders that may have been added or a status change in any mines, click Refresh.
6.If you do not want to include attachments in the mine, select the Cluster document families check box.
The family of documents is considered as one document and the attachments do not appear when viewing the mine. This means that you see fewer documents.
If you do not select this option, the mine includes attachments, and more documents appear in the mine.
7.To send the mine to a specific workflow phase, select the Enable automatic routing check box, and then enter the following information:
oOverride assignment size: To change the assignment size for the workflow phase, type a number in the box.
The assignment size is approximate if assignments are broken on families. For more information about assignment sizes, see Configure phase properties.
oWorkflow and phase: In the Workflow list, click a workflow. Then in the Phase list, click a phase.
oDelete after routing: To remove the mine from the Mines page after autorouting, select the check box.
oRoute subclusters: To create subclusters of similar documents within the clusters of a large document set, select the check box.
For more information about autorouting an existing mine, see Automatically route a mine.
Note: If you autoroute a mine, you cannot change its properties. However, if you clear the Delete after routing option, you can modify the groups that can access the mine.
8.Click Save.
If you autoroute a mine, the mine is built automatically and a check mark appears in the Autorouting column.
For information about the columns in the Mines page, see Open a mine.
9.Enable permission to the mine. For more information, see Set security for mines.
To allow users to access a mine, you set security for the mine.
For information about how to set security for multiple mines at the same time, see Work with security for objects.
Use the following procedure to enable permission to a mine.
1.On the Case Home page, under Analysis, click Mines.
2.Click the name of a mine.
3.In the navigation pane, click Security.
4.Depending on which groups you want to set security for, do the following:
oTo change the security for a user group, hover over the row for the group, and then select an option.
oTo change the security for all user groups, select an option in the heading row. Then click OK.
The following security settings are available.
Permission |
Description |
Deny |
Denies the group access to the mine. |
Allow |
Allows the group access to the mine. |
5.Build the mine. For more information, see Build a mine.
You must build a mine before users can review it.
Use the following procedure to build a mine.
1.On the Case Home page, under Analysis, click Mines.
2.Click the Rebuild button in the row for a mine.
Note: If an error occurs, the error is indicated in the status column. For more information about how to view errors, see Errors.
