A hint is a suggested coding value for a field in a coding template. When many documents should be coded with the same values, you can speed up the review process by applying the suggested coding values in the hints. For example, you can code a document with the same values that you coded the previous document.
Your administrator can configure the suggested values for the fields in a coding template.
The permissions set by your administrator determine access to this feature.
Use the following procedure to code a document using hints.
1.Select the document that you want to code.
2.In the Code pane, click the Code single document button.
3.On the All Values menu, click the name of a coding template.
4.On the Hints menu, select the suggested coding values to display, as follows:
oTemplate Defaults: Displays the suggested values associated with the coding template.
oPrevious Document: Displays the same values as the previous document.
oMost Similar Document: Displays the same values as the document that is most similar to the current document.
Similarity is based on matching concepts between the documents. Hints are available when documents share two-thirds of the same concepts. The availability of similar documents is restricted by document security and by branded redactions.
The available hints appear. An equal sign (=) indicates that the current document and the hint document have the same value.
5.To code the document, select from the following:
Tip: To view the hint document in a new window, click Previous Document in the column heading. To view the document ID of the hint document, hover over the Previous Document heading.
oTo code a single field with the value in a hint, click the Apply this Value to the Current Document button (the arrow next to a hint).
oTo code all fields with the values in the hints, click the Apply all Values to the Current Document button (the arrow in the column heading).
